Vassili can loosely be compared to such breakaway and high-energy world music artists such as Ozomatli, Gipsy Kings, Santana, Manu Chau and the Afro Celt Sound System, but all similarities stop there. Made up of virtuoso musicians, singers and dancers from around the world, COTR blend their Flamenco, Greek, and Rock roots creating, a lush and melodic sound driven by infectious Latin and Middle-Eastern grooves. The group is fronted by lead singer Vassili, who grew up on the Greek Islands, and former metal head turned flamenco guitarist Eric Jaeger. Sharing the spotlight is Barcelona-born flamenco dancer Encarnación. Their electrifying and sexy concerts showcase outstanding musicianship and songwriting with world-class dance performances. Both world music aficionados and those new to the genre agree - COTR puts on one of the most unifying and entertaining shows in the world.

Domenic Marte is a stateside bachata singer, songwriter, and producer with a light pop touch who made his solo debut in 2004 on Sony Discos and who has a number of tropical airplay hits to his credit. Based in Massachusetts and of Dominican heritage, Marte released his full-length album debut, Intimamente, in 2004 under the abbreviated name Domenic M (he would use his full name thereafter). The album spawned a series of hits, beginning with "Ven Tu," a Top Ten hit on Billboard's Latin Tropical Airplay chart; follow-up singles "Ella Se Llevo Mi Vida" and "La Quiero" also registered on the tropical airplay chart, going Top 20 and Top 40, respectively. Around the same time, Marte was featured on a couple songs on fellow Massachusetts singer Bylli Crayone's 2005 self-titled album, most notably the song "Toyfriend." In 2007 Marte released his second album, Deseos de Amarte, which, similar to its predecessor, spawned a Top Ten tropical airplay hit in the title track and a modest follow-up hit, "Con los Ojos Cerrados.

The San Francisco Summer Salsa Festival, in San Francisco, July 16-19th, is a stellar event in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world. This Summer, San Francisco plays host to the San Francisco Salsa Festival, with live music, over 7 bands, all days workshops and classes, and teachers from all over the globe, and social dancing until 3am. Yes, there will also be some stellar performances and featuring salsa live bands Avance and Mazacote with Pre-event parties and more…

This year's Salsa Festivalfollows a decade of exceptional Salsa Dance festivals, events and nightlife put on by SalsaCrazy, Inc. in the heart of San Francisco. Last year's "Salsa in the Square" brought out thousands of dancers to Union Square for live music and lessons, and exposed countless people to the fun and passion of salsa dancing. This year, SalsaCrazy is combining both indoor and outdoor events, and greatly expanding the dance lessons, workshops, and live music.
